Rainbow Roses

いつぞや（一昨年の9月みたい）高島屋のデパ地下に食材の買い出しで出掛けたときに、花屋で見かけて気になっていたレインボー・ローズ（Rainbow Roses）。こんなのいつ誰がなんのために買うんだよ、と思っていたんですが、どうやらバレンタインデーに赤いバラの代わりに贈る…と言うのが流行ってるみたいですね。

After lengthy years of experiments, the breeders have finally developed these rainbow roses, offering you a clever alternative to the red roses for Valentines’ Day. These colorful roses have been developed through a unique coloring process, during which the rose-branch absorbs all the different dyes as they grow. Though they are real flowers, these rainbow roses can only be purchased as cut or dried flowers, rather than a rose bush.
