1.4 update now on Steam | Bethesda Blog

Today we’ve taken Skyrim’s 1.4 update out of beta and made it available for everyone on Steam. In addition to bug and quest fixes, 1.4 adds launcher support for the Skyrim Workshop. Currently we’re putting the final touches on the Creation Kit and Skyrim Workshop and will let everyone know as soon as they’re up.

As an update to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 users, we’re submitting 1.4 to the console manufacturers this week. When these updates are available, we’ll let everyone know.

After the break, check out the final release notes for 1.4. The changes impact all platforms unless noted.

Has the quest with the companions been fixed yet where you are unable to receive the quest after the guild hall has been attacked?

I’m interested in how you guys at Bethesda go about finding and fixing bugs. Do you look up info. sites like wiki etc? Unless some bugs take a lot of time to figure out and fix; the list seems somewhat short compared to the amount of bugs I’ve read about. This is in no way an impatient rage post, I’m just curious as to how you go about finding and fixing these problems.

We look at forums (including our own), wikis, blog comments, YouTube videos, and more.

The 1.4 updates features numerous fixes that are based upon some of the most common issues we’ve seen reported.

The best information we can use is information from users that are able share steps on how to replicate the issue. If there’s a particular issue we want to learn more about, we’ll reach out to folks to have a look at their game save.
